Mexico, as an emerging economy, requires maximizing the results obtained by investing in development projects. One of the promoters of these investments is the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT). The projects are well intentioned but not always successfully concluded, especially inadequate planning of its resources, causing delays, rework and in the worst case scenario, failure thereof, who in turn adversely affect the assignment of financial sponsorship or other projects. This research develops and testing a mathematical model to determine the economic feasibility of the innovation projects of CONACYT, testing the hypothesis that the projects are a variant of the mathematical intractability, and therefore, you can get afairly accurate approximation of the actual project costs using algorithms and the theory of NP Completeness.Downloads
